THE GOBLIN BELTANE BALL 2025

This is the second of the freeform LRPs inspired by fantasy films such as Labyrinth, Stardust, Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy 2: the Golden Army, and Neverwhere, amongst others. It is set on the night of a great Goblin Ball, when strange supernatural creatures of all kinds assemble to celebrate, politick and make merry.

 

Your characters are either goblins – creatures from the otherworld – who exist partly in our own world and partly in their own parallel reality, or creatures from other, stranger worlds which might or might not exist; but for tonight, they have either found their way here through magic or chance, or simply stumbled in while dreaming.  

You are welcome to play an existing character from another RPG, be that LARP, TT, or any other format, or to create a character specifically for this event.  The 'Goblin Ball' setting is eclectic and inclusive, with 30 different ‘goblin courts’ designed to enable players to create characters based around many different themes and aesthetics, from cyberpunk to pre Raphaelite.

Please see the ‘Playing the Game’ page for more information, but this game is rules light and all plot is opt in – you are welcome to simply come along and dance for an evening if you wish. Ticket prices include entry and food for the evening, and are available at Eventbrite. Costume and masks are not included.
